Retreats on a quiet mountaintop

Yoga, wellness and writing retreats have been held here since 2024. The Great Room has the floor space, the patio faces the Smokies, and there is nothing to pull people away for fifteen minutes in any direction.

  • Room to gather. The Great Room for sessions, the Grand Patio for the view, the lawn and fire pit for evenings, two more living rooms upstairs for breakouts.
  • Meals. Private-chef meal packages, or your own caterer in the commercial kitchen. The coffee bar is out every morning either way.
  • Guided hikes. Guided waterfall hikes to Deep Creek or Mingo Falls can be arranged; the national park is 25 minutes.
  • Massage. Massage therapists have worked on site for past retreats and can be booked for yours.

The Entire Lodge is $3,000 a night and the 13-Room Exclusive rental $2,500, plus tax and a cleaning fee. Compare the group rentals and every bed.

Our own retreats

Spirit of the Mountain

Once or twice a year the lodge hosts its own long weekend of yoga, meditation and doing very little, led by a visiting teacher. Past retreats included three nights’ lodging, all meals from a private chef, daily classes, a guided waterfall hike and an hour of massage, with day and drop-in rates for locals.

The next dates are announced here and on Instagram (opens in a new tab) first. Ask us to let you know when they open.

“The owners are super friendly and amazing. My girlfriend and I stayed in one of the king rooms, and it was absolutely perfect. The morning view with our morning coffee couldn’t have been better!”

Questions retreat leaders ask

How many people can a retreat at the lodge hold?

Fifteen bedrooms with 21 beds plus 3 sleeper sofas. Tell us your headcount and we'll confirm the fit. Rooms can be sold as private, semi-private (private bedroom, shared bath) or shared, the way retreat pricing usually works.

Where do sessions happen?

The Great Room (timber trusses, wood fire, room to lay out mats), the covered Grand Patio, the lawn by the fire pit, and the two living rooms of the Kress Family Suite.

Can you handle meals?

Yes. Meal packages with a private chef can be arranged for your group, or your own caterer can use the commercial kitchen (included with the Entire Lodge; with the 13-Room or Top Floor rental, access can be added for $250 per stay/booking). Past retreats have included all meals, a guided waterfall hike and on-site massage.

Do you run your own retreats?

Yes. Spirit of the Mountain yoga retreats, led by visiting teachers and hosted by the lodge, run once or twice a year. Call or write and we will tell you when the next dates open.
